After a short time as a maths consultant with Thomas Nelson between teaching jobs, I realised that I could write. Sounds daft, but it takes some confidence to put your words and ideas on a page for others to read and use. I was then very fortunate to work with Peter Patilla on a series of books and learnt the trade from him – starting off with handwritten pages and tippex to alter text. How things have changed!
We co-authored over 100 books together, and now he has retired I’ve written over 400 books for parents, teachers and pupils in the UK, Nigeria, Pakistan and the Middle East… and I’m still going strong. I’ve worked with some fantastic publishers, including Harper Collins, Macmillan, Letts, Hodder, Rising Stars, the BBC, Oxford University Press and Pearson – all with the aim to produce the best quality resources for teachers and children.
